Principal's Message
"The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach."
Ensuring that our students become goal-setters and goal-achievers is critical to their success both now and in the future. Our city, our nation and our world need a new generation of highly-skilled and motivated citizens who will make a positive difference for humanity.
As educators of your children, it our responsibility to equip them with the academic skills that will empower them to set and achieve their goals. For this reason, at Lanning Square School we pride ourselves on providing a quality education for all of our students.
As Principal of Lanning Square School, I have the unique privilege and responsibility to cultivate an educational climate that will transform our school vision into a reality. Without setting high expectations and goals for our staff members and students, this vision will remain unfulfilled.
Throughout the 2008-2009 school year we have worked "...in pursuit of great expectations."
For 2009-2010 our theme will be: "Lanning Square School...where academic success is under construction."
We must continue meeting our challenges as we build on the past to construct our future.
As parents, we extend an open invitation for you to join us as a partner in your child's learning by staying involved with the school. If you are unsure of how you can become a partner in learning, the following are a wonderful beginning:
- Read to your child for at least fifteen minutes a day.
- Attend Meetings, Parent-Teacher/Conferences, etc.
- Connect with other parents and your child’s educators.
- Call the school at anytime. We want to hear from you.
During the 2009-2010 school year, I look forward to working with you to ensure that our children set, achieve and transcend their academic goals.
